The True Meaning of Yom Kippur

Yom Kippur is known as the Day of Atonement, the day we Christians see as being fulfilled in the death on the Cross of our Messiah Jesus Christ.  This year, Yom Kippur falls on September 19.  Previous visitor to Saint Alban's and Messianic Christian leader, Jeff Kipp of Chosen People's Messianic Ministries leads our congregation for the first time in a lesson on the meaning of the Yom Kippur holy day, and the significance of the placement of Yom Kippur 10 days after the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hoshanah).

Led by Jeff Kipp of Chosen People's Messianic Ministries.

More Hard Sayings of the Bible

Certainly everyone has particular scripture passages that ask for a more thorough and deep understanding, whether due to one's own personal agenda, from ignorance of the language, culture, or context of the passage, or from not looking at the passage with a Biblical worldview.  Bring to our sessions the passages you struggle with and as a group, we will attempt to bring you to a better understanding of God's Word!

Spiritual Disciplines and Doubt

How has God designed our patterns of prayer, study and worship to battle the seed of doubt that comes from original sin?  We can be thankful for our salvation in Christ Jesus, but our daily lives are long and our hearts and minds can often be found not facing squarely seeking the Lord's face!  Why are spiritual disciplines so important for every Christian to involve themselves within and get us past doubt?

The Saint Alban's Anglican Adult Education Mission Statement:

Ephesians 4:11-14a "And He gave...teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine..."
